Ban on Burning Permits Announced

March 24, 2006 – Effective immediately all burning permits in the St. Thomas and St. John Districts will be suspended until further notice. The ban was implemented due to the lack of rain over recent months, according to Glen Francis, district fire chief.
Authorized burning permits affected by this ban should contact the Fire Prevention Unit at 774-7610 to receive a credit once the ban has been lifted.
