Elton Lewis to Speak at Chamber Luncheon Friday

March 16, 2006 – Police Commissioner Elton Lewis will be the guest speaker at the March luncheon of the St. Thomas-St.John Chamber of Commerce.
Lewis will speak on several subjects, he said Thursday.
He said sector policing is on the agenda, adding that when officers are assigned to patrol specific areas they can get to know the people on their beat.
He also said he will address the issue of having three police chiefs, one for each island, versus a territorial police chief
"I will also outline some long-term goals for the Police Department," Lewis said, along with his plans for his last few months as commissioner.
He also said he will discuss the "solvability factor" in homicide cases in the territory.
The luncheon will be at noon Friday, March 17 at the Holiday Inn Windward Passage. The cost of the luncheon is $25 for members and $35 for non members. Reservations are required. Call 776-0100 to reserve a spot.
