Feb. 23, 2006 – Due to popular demand, Caribbean Community Theatre (CCT) has held over its production of "Jesus Christ Superstar" this weekend, with two final shows on Friday and Saturday evenings, Feb. 24 and Feb. 25, at 8 p.m. This production is a stirring and provocative rock opera for all generations.
With music written by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Tim Rice, it chronicles the last seven days in the life of Jesus of Nazareth as seen through the eyes of his disciple, Judas. The play is directed by Lorraine Durand with music direction by Kathleen Dodge-DeHaven. David James stars as Jesus, with Lionel Downer as Judas, and Natalie Hollins as Mary Magdalene.
All shows are held at the NEW CCT Theater at No. 18 Estate Orange Grove, Christiansted, St. Croix. Theatergoers should arrive early for best seating, as reservations will not be taken for this production. The box office opens at 7:15 p.m. Ticket prices are $15 for adults and $8 for students.
