Raffi Jackson is Remembered

Dear Source:
I am saddened to learn of the passing of Raphael "Raffie" Jackson. While I was the Commissioner of the Department of Economic Development and Agriculture, he managed the New York Tourism Office as well as the North America market. His passing is a profound loss to his family and those who knew him in the tourism industry. He knew the travel market and it knew him likewise. He conducted hundreds of travel presentations throughout his years as the New York Office manager and North America coordinator. As the North American coordinator, he supervised all of the mainland regional offices throughout the U. S. He was very well respected in the tourism market at home and abroad. You could rely on his estimates of the market conditions on account of his experience and contacts in the industry. Raffie's dedication to the tourism market goes unquestioned; he has left an indelible mark on the Virgin Islands tourism industry.
But there is another side to "Raffie". He was a very good baseball player on St. Croix and on the mainland. He was skillful enough that he could have been drafted in his younger years, but that did not happen.
He will be missed by all who knew him.
