Feb. 22, 2006 — A police investigation is under way into a fatal shooting Tuesday night at the Harbor View housing community on St. Croix. Shortly before 10 p.m. police units were dispatched to "reports of shots fired" in the vicinity of Harbor View. Police sources said Tuesday night the body of an adult male victim was found. Territorial Police Chief Novelle Francis Jr. identified the victim as 28-year-old Germaine Maynard, a resident of Harbor View.
Maynard had no vital signs when police arrived at the scene and was later pronounced dead. Police have no suspects in the case and are asking anyone with information to contact the Criminal Investigation Bureau at 778-4950, 778-2211 or 911.
