Rotary Club to Honor Person of the Year

Feb. 1, 2006 – The Rotary Club of St. Croix – MidIsle announced its choice for Person of the Year. This annual selection honors a member of the community who has made great contribution through his or her vocation.
Chris Finch began working for Lutheran Social Services in 1983 and has been the executive director since 1992. He has a bachelor's degree from University of Texas in social work and a master's degree in public administration from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. He is married and has two children, according to a press release from the Rotary Club of St. Croix.
Lutheran Services has been providing residential care and housing to the most vulnerable citizens of the Virgin Islands for over 100 years. They have a 24-hour care for people with disabilities, and abused and neglected children. They subsidize apartments and social services for low-income senior citizens and run a head start program.
The members of Rotary MidIsle will honor Finch at a cocktail reception at 6 p.m., on Friday, Feb. 3, at the Pentheny Courtyard in Christiansted. Donations are $15.
