Jan. 10, 2006 – Helen Garman Morales died of heart failure in Miami, Fl. on Jan. 6. She was 85. Born in Vieques, Morales lived most of her life in Frederiksted. Her parents emigrated to St. Croix in 1926 and opened Morales Store at 57 King St.
Morales worked for Merwin & Co. for many years.
She is survived by sisters Inez Ramsey, now of Chicago; Justina Ramirez, now living with her daughters in Spokane, Wash.; brothers William Morales currently of Miami, Fla., Stephen Morales, now living in Orlando, Fla. and John Morales of Rio Piedras, P. R.
Morales had family and many friends on St, Croix
A viewing is scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday at Caballero Funeral Home. Burial will be at Caballero Woodland Cemetery in Miami.
