Chef Jan Robinson Live on QVC Friday

Dec. 29, 2005 – Well-known local author and chef Jan Robinson will be seen Friday on QVC's live show Now You're Cooking with show host Bob Bowersox. The show starts at 5 p.m. EST .
Jan Robinson is a yacht captain, chef, speaker, and writer as well as the author of the Ship to Shore cookbook collection; Ship to Shore I, Ship to Shore II, Sip to Shore (cocktails and hors d'oeuvres), Sea to Shore (a cooks guide to fish cooking), Sweet to Shore (desserts, cookies, cakes), Slim to Shore (recipes for a healthier lifestyle), Store to Shore, Bahama Mama's cooking, Famous Virgin Islands Recipes and the Kid's Caribbean Cookbook.
A native of New Zealand, Jan sailed the Caribbean with her husband on their 60 ft. yacht for many years. After numerous requests for recipes from charter guests, Jan collected the best from other charter yacht chefs and published Ship to Shore I. The book is now in its fourteenth printing. The other nine books have followed.
"The kitchens we cook in are smaller than most peoples closets,"Robinson says, "which makes them easy for you to prepare at home." Her recipes include traditional favorites, innovative ideas and exciting dishes from around the world, which have been created by yacht chefs with easy-to-find ingredients. "The recipes make meal planning a snap and you a star,"Robinson says. "Your family and friends will love them."
Jan shuttles between her homes on St. Thomas, in Charlotte, N.C. and on Water Island. For more than three decades she has traveled the Caribbean, collecting recipes from the charter yacht chefs, promoting the islands and the 'best kept secret vacation – a charter yacht vacation, where there is a boat for every budget!'
Her books may be found in book shops and gift stores throughout the Caribbean and U.S. and on Amazon and Barnes and Noble.
