Pistarckle Theatre Presents 'The Straight Story'

Nov. 15, 2005 – Join First Bank and Pistarckle Theater for a screening of "The Straight Story," a film about an Iowa farmer who pledges to go to his ill brother's side despite being unable to drive and unwilling to accept help. With a tent to sleep under, a riding lawnmower for transportation and unshakable determination, Alvin (Oscar-nominee Richard Farnsworth) sets out to cover the 300 miles to his brother's house in a weeks-long journey of healing and remembrance. The film is directed by David Lynch and has won numerous awards. Sissy Spacek also stars.
The screening begins at 7:30 p.m. and a discussion of the film follows. We invite everyone to stay for a post-movie discussion. Donations will be accepted.
