United Way Holds Eighth Annual 'Day of Caring'
On Saturday, Oct. 22, volunteers will celebrate the spirit of community service by participating in the United Way of St. Thomas-St. John annual "Day of Caring." It was created eight years ago to link people with group volunteer project opportunities.
This year volunteers are needed to work during a four-hour period to improve and beautify the Winston Raymo Community Center. Projects include painting and landscaping the front of the center, painting the newly installed bleachers, and planting trees and sprucing up the playground. United Way is working in collaboration with the Department of Housing, Parks and Recreation, and local businesses and organizations to secure the necessary resources for the event.
