Runners Invited to Boys and Girls Cross-Country Series

Oct. 7, 2005 – The V.I. Track and Field Federation announced a four- race cross-country series for boys and girls on Oct. 12 (developmental runs) and Nov. 11 (The Annual Veterans Day 5K).
The races are for all grade levels (elementary boys and girls; junior varsity boys and girls; varsity boys and girls and participants in the 4-H program.) Adults are also welcome. Runs will vary in distances with elementary boys and girls running one mile, junior varsity boys and girls two miles and high school boys and girls and adults 3.1 miles. The runs will be held at the University of the Virgin Islands St. Croix Campus.
The Nov. 11 event is the Annual Veterans Day 5k and is designated as the V.I. Cross-Country Championships and will be open to runners of all ages with a special category for boys and girls school runners from all V.I. public and private schools and participants in the 4-H program of the Cooperative Extension Service of the University of the Virgin Islands, St. Croix Campus. The runs are hosted by the 4-H program of the Cooperative Extension Service, UVI, organized by the V.I. Pace Runners and sponsored by the Boys to Men, Girls to Women Foundation.
