Ball at Government House Taking Parking Spots

Oct. 7, 2005 – The Firemen's Ball at Government House will cause parking restrictions in Christiansted on Saturday evening.
Deputy Chief of Police Herminio Velazquez announced that the restrictions would be in effect from 6:30 p.m. until 11 p.m. on the following streets:
— King Street – In front of Government House.
— Queen Cross Street between King and Company streets.
— Church Street between King and Company streets.
The parking restrictions will be in place to allow parking of vehicles used in the transportation of participants in the ball and for other security measures.
Velazquez added in the announcement that the police department wishes the community of St. Croix a safe and enjoyable weekend as it requests this cooperation concerning the parking restrictions and it regrets any inconveniences.
Any vehicle found parked in prohibited areas will be ticketed and/or towed away at the owner’s expense. Owners or drivers finding that his/her vehicle has been towed should call 773- 2530 for further information.
