Department of Labor Hosts Reception for Public and Private Sectors

Sept. 27, 2005 – The Department of Labor will host a "Government After Hours" reception on Friday, Oct. 7, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Windward Passage Hotel in honor of Labor Awareness Month. The department also wants to spotlight the importance of public/private partnerships as a vehicle to stabilize, develop and protect our territory's workforce and to enhance economic development and employment opportunities, according to a press release from the DOL.
Commissioner Cecil R. Benjamin, on behalf of the Labor Department, extends an invitation to officials of all branches of the government and stakeholders in the private sector to share in this unique opportunity to meet and familiarize themselves with people whom they interact with from time to time through correspondence and telephone. He states, "This reception allows all stakeholders to come together during a social evening of relaxation to mix and mingle and to honor and pay tribute to our public and private dedicated servants. It is our fervent hope that this can help foster a better working relationship and partnership amongst all stakeholders in both sectors of our community."
For further information or to RSVP, contact Janelle Gumbs at 776-3700, ext. 2091.
