The Department of Labor Holds Open House Activities

Sept. 21, 2005 – Commissioner of Labor Cecil R. Benjamin announced in a press release that the Department of Labor's Open House activities would be held on Saturday, Sept. 24, on St. Thomas from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will be at 52 A and 54 A and B Kronprindsens Gade. The Open House provides a chance for people to voice their concerns and have their questions answered by representatives from the many divisions within DOL. In addition, free health screening for high blood pressure, diabetes, glaucoma, cholesterol and HIV testing will be available for the public during these events. Massage therapists will also be on hand to provide massages for those in need. Refreshments will be served, according to the press release from the department. This open house is one of the ways DOL will be hosting the public in commemoration of Labor Awareness Month 2005. The commissioner encourages everyone to come out and join the celebration and pay tribute to the hardworking men and women of the territory. For further information call the Office of the Commissioner, 776-3700, ext. 2111.
