Education Human Resources Not Accepting Applications for Support Staff

Sept. 3, 2005 – Human Resource Director for the VI Education Department, Alscess Lewis-Brown, advises the general public that the office has imposed a moratorium on applications for support staff positions during the month of September, effective Tuesday, Sept. 6.
Mrs. Brown said, "During this brief moratorium the HR office will be updating its databases and focusing our efforts toward filling critical teaching and professional staff positions. However, if you have submitted an application for a support staff position prior to Friday, Sept. 2, it will be reviewed and you will be contacted either by telephone or mail regarding the status of your application.
"The Division of Human Resources apologizes for the inconvenience, Brown said, "but the time is necessary so that we can better serve the public." Brown added that teaching applications and other critical professional applications would be accepted during the moratorium.
The HR office will resume accepting applications on October 3.
