Pistarckle Presents 'Crumb' in Film Festival Winners Series

Aug. 13, 2005 – Pistarckle Theater and sponsor FirstBank Virgin Islands continue the series of Film Festival Winners with "Crumb."
"Crumb" is the true story of Robert Crumb, a comic strip artist and writer known for his unusual imagery. His work may already be stamped in your subconscious with the likes of Mr. Natural, the Keep on Truckin' guy, Fritz the Cat, or the cover of the Janis Joplin album, "Cheap Thrills." The film explores the intelligence and eccentricities of Crumb and his family. During the 1995/1996 festival circuit, "Crumb" took home an impressive nine wins for best documentary in various festivals, including Sundance. It was directed by Terry Zwigoff and produced by David Lynch.
The film series continues with additional Film Festival Winners on Aug. 23. All films begin promptly at 7:30 p.m. every Tuesday night. We suggest a 7:15 p.m. arrival for drinks and popcorn. We invite everyone to stay for a post-movie discussion directly after the film. A door prize will be announced at the end of each discussion. Donations are accepted.
