FYI: Senator Liston Davis Lauds the Commissioner of Education on the Homework Policy Development Draft

Aug. 2, 2005 – Senator Liston Davis, chair of the Committee on Education, Culture and Youth, said he would like to publicly laud and commend the Commissioner of Education, Dr. Noreen Michael, for the "Homework Policy Development Draft" submitted to him for review.
"A sound homework policy is vital to the education of our students, since it allows practice and concretization of classroom instruction as well as the development of critical thinking skills by our students," said the senator.
"As a first step toward improving the quality of public education, the 'Homework Policy Development Draft' is a valuable concept.
"The commissioner and members of the committee responsible for drafting the document can count on my wholehearted support and my assistance as the draft is fine-tuned," said Sen. Davis.
