Whimsical Adventures Celebrates V.I. Culture

July 29, 2005 – St. Croix Landmarks Society and the Whim Museum announce a family Culture Day called "Whimsical Adventures" on Saturday, Aug 13 at 10 a.m. It will be held at the Whim Museum in Frederiksted and will be a day of adventure and fun for all, especially families with young children, according to a press release from the society and the museum.
There will be games, crafts, prizes and demonstrations, such as the art of the Mocko Jumbie, how to plant sugar cane, and how to play Michael Belgrave's Steel Pans. Other demonstrations will include: the Cane Juice Man, Chef Tahirah's Fungi Turnin', The Heritage Dancers teaching the quadrille, and storytelling that will thrill you with tales from the past.
Admission is $5 for adults and $1 for children. Children under 6 are free.
