V.I. Tennis Players Heading to Costa Rica

July 7, 2005 – The U.S. Virgin Islands' Davis Cup team leaves July 8 to participate in the America Zonal Group IV Tie of the 2005 Davis Cup by BNP Paribas Competition being held in Costa Rica from July 11 to 17.
The team is comprised of Eugene Highfield, St. Croix; Christian Nelthropp, St. Croix; Jereme Cumbermack, St. Croix; Whitney McFarlane, St. Thomas; and team coach George Lewis, St. John.
The other teams in the competition will be Costa Rica, Trinidad and Tobago, Bermuda and Barbados. The top two teams will move up to Group III for the 2006 Competition.
Participation in this competition has been made possible by the financial support of the V.I. Olympic Committee, Cruzan Rum, Spenceley Office Equipment, Margate Management L.P. and J Epstein V.I. Foundation.
