Arborist to Present Program on the Organic Way

June 29, 2005 – Carlos Montalvo will present Caring for Trees and Plants the Organic Way, a half-day workshop, on Sunday, July 3, noon until about 4 p.m.
Puerto Rican arborist Montalvo has a weekly radio show – Heliconia, fruit tree farm and a tree-care business.
According to a press release, he is known for his environmental activism and abilities to deal with plant and tree problems, his forestry work, his urban and country plantings and his cultivation using only safe, organic materials.
He will give participants tips and demonstrations on planting, pruning, spraying, and dealing with pest problems common to our area such as insects and overgrowth of Tan-tan. After a light lunch, he will lead participants on a walk and talk tour to a spot where he will demonstrate how to apply all the information from the first part of the workshop to an untouched, natural environment.
The workshop designed for professionals and interested property owners will be at Birds of Paradise located at #1 Bugby Hole, between Hermon Hill and Catherine’s Rest.
