Foundation Looking to Honor Friends of Community

April 20, 2005 – The Community Foundation of the Virgin Islands announces the fourth annual Silver Bells and Cockleshells Awards to recognize individuals, programs or organizations making a significant impact on children and families.
Individuals, civic, grass roots and/or non-profit groups are invited to submit nominations for creative, innovative and effective programs or projects.
Nominated programs or projects must already be in place and serving to promote the well being of children and families.
Any individual person, group or organization may self-nominate or propose others for consideration. Nominations must be submitted on a one-page nomination form which is available at the Foundation’s office in Royal Dane Mall, Charlotte Amalie; or by calling CFVI at 774-6031; or at CFVI’s Web site, "www.cfvi.net".
Selected programs, projects or individuals will receive monetary awards at a special recognition ceremony in the fall, and will be highlighted in the Community Foundation’s KIDS COUNT data book for 2005.
Deadline for submission of completed nominations is May 31.
