Vacation OK, But Bad Attitudes Have to Go

I traveled to St Croix mid March 2005 for some scuba diving with Anchor Dive, located in the Salt River Bay (the people at Anchor Dive were the nicest folks we met on the island!) We saw the eyesores of half-sunken vessels in the harbor and wondered how long they had been that way. In short, we came seeking the paradise of advertisement and found it if we looked in the right direction. There are many things that need improvement though, trashy areas, loose animals, no enforced speed limit and most importantly Islanders with huge attitudes toward visitors. We spent a lot of money in the region, it would have been nice if everyone made us feel as welcome as the folks at Anchor Dive.
Thanks for reading my thoughts.
