Cycling Federation Offers Bike Clinic, Women's Race

March 22, 2005 – The V.I. Cycling Federation, in conjunction with the West is Best Triathlon, will offer a free cycling clinic on March 26 at Rhythms at Rainbow Beach in Frederiksted. The clinic is geared toward beginning cyclists and triathletes, and will adjust rider's position on the bike, complete minor tune-ups and will have riding sessions with experienced racers who will give advise on pedaling and shifting technique. The clinic will start at 10 a.m. and is open to everyone.
Athletes will then be able to put their knowledge to good use the next day, at Rust op Twist, where a road race will be held along the North Shore. For the first time, women will have their own category, and will race one loop of the 11.5-mile course. As always, there will also be men’s divisions, who will race between 11.5 and 35 miles. Race registration opens at 6:30 a.m and the race will begin at 7 a.m.
