Feb. 22, 2005 – The 5th annual St. John Arts Festival continues through Sunday with events held every day at various venues around St. John.
Sis Frank, who founded the St. John School of the Arts, said that the events bring together locals and tourists to enjoy a wide variety of activities.
"It is fun," she said, noting that she spent three hours on Monday listening to music.
From noon until 5 p.m. through Saturday, food and crafts will be for sale in Cruz Bay Park.
Concerts will be held from noon until 4 p.m. until Friday in Cruz Bay Park.
Inner Vision is playing Tuesday. On Wednesday, Koko and the Sunshine Band will perform. Thursday will see the Ana Cruisis Brass Quintet, with Ah We Band rounding out the park concerts on Friday.
The John Cahill Ensemble will perform at 8 p.m. Friday at the St. John School of the Arts. Tickets for the event will be $25.
Cahill will play the piano and horn. Violinist Gabriela Haley and pianist Lorna Young-Wright round out the group.
At 8 p.m. Sunday, students from the John Cahill Studio will perform a free concert at Nazareth Lutheran Church.
At 7 p.m. Tuesday, an exhibit of art from Ghana will open at the Battery. The exhibit, entitled "Ancestral Visions – Contemporary Expression," will hang through Saturday.
Additionally, the island's art galleries will have special exhibits and many restaurants will have nightly music.
