Landmarks Society 'Starving Artists' is Sunday

Nov. 27, 2004 – The St. Croix Landmarks Society's 16th Starving Artists Day is this Sunday. This popular twice-annual island holiday tradition is the perfect way to stock up on gifts for everyone on your list. The highlight is an art show, and the Whim Museum grounds come alive with more than 75 local arts and crafts vendors, Crucian food and drinks, local plants and produce, children's activities and live local music from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., according to the Web site.
The Museum Store will be open for island gifts – including an excellent assortment of West Indian Christmas cards – and reproduction West Indies furniture. Hit the Library Booth for St. Croix photos, note cards and maps.
There will be children's activities under the Education Tent, too.
Come early and enjoy a catered breakfast on the porch; there's a cash bar all day with mimosas and Bloody Marys. Cash raffle drawing at 4 p.m.
Admission is $5. Kids are free.
The location is Whim, 52 Estate Whim, (located on Centerline Road – Rt. 70), in Frederiksted.
