Learn about the people and aircraft that fly into the eyes of hurricanes to determine their strength and direction. At the airport. Call Emy Thomas for date, details: 778-1952.
-Winter Birds at Southgate Pond
Dec. 4
Bring your binoculars and field guides to enjoy birds that winter on St. Croix. Carol Cramer-Burke and Lisa Yntema will provide basic guidance and birding scope for close-up viewing. Registration requested: call 778-1952 or 773-1989.
-Advanced Snorkeling at Boiler Bay
Dec. 12
(near Carmers Park) with Joe Alecci, an open-water dive instructor. For experienced snorkelers who are comfortable in the ocean. Minimum age 12, registration a must. $10 fee nor non-SEA members. Call Megan Shoenfelt, 773-1989.
-Audubon Christmas Bird Count
Dec. 19
All day – dawn to dusk – experienced birders are needed to help conduct this annual count. Contact Sheelagh Fromer at 778-0822 or check with the St. Croix Environmental Association office for more details, 773-1989.
