Parades and Events to Mark Veterans Day

Nov. 10, 2004 – U.S. Virgin Islanders will join with veterans all across the country to celebrate Veterans Day on Thursday. Ceremonies and observances will mark the occasion on all Virgin Islands. The first Veteran's Day was the result of a congressional resolution to officially recognize the end of World War I – the first modern global conflict.
St. Croix and St. Thomas will host Veteran's Day parades on Thursday. The St. Thomas parade schedule is as follows:
Parade line-up is at 1 p.m. at the Addelita Cancryn Junior High School. The parade begins at 2 p.m. up Veteran's Drive to Emancipation Gardens where the official ceremony will take place.
Closings
In observance of the holiday all schools, including the both campuses of the University of the Virgin Islands, banks, the District and Territorial Courts will be closed. Post office lobbies will also be closed.
