Oct. 28, 2004 — New Herrnhut Moravian Church invites the public to hear visiting guest preacher Rev. Binta Adlyn V. Mgonela at 7 p.m., Monday-Friday, Nov. 1- 5. She will also be the guest preacher at the New Herrnhut services on Sunday, Nov. 7.
Mgonela is the pastor of the Chaguanas and Memorial Moravian churches in Trinidad. Originally from St. Kitts, her search to serve God took her on a "faith journey" that included 17 ½ years in Tanzania. She has worked in nursing, psychiatric nursing, and midwifery. Mgonela was trained at the United Theological College of the West Indies where she received her diploma in ministerial studies, and she also has a B.A. in theology from the University of the West Indies. She was ordained at the Bethesda Moravian Church in St. Kitts in July 2002.
