Dear Source,
I read your article on the mounted police force. I am moving to St Croix in January to take up full-time residence as a caretaker and security guard for a large estate that is being built over the next year.
I have made many trips to the USVI and St Croix and am aware of the crime problems that exist. Being from Florida, which also depends a great deal on tourism, I can tell you that if this is not brought under control your tourism will begin to suffer, which many depend upon for survival on the islands. I understand that is one of the reasons that the cruise industry pulled out of St Croix. I would back this move and encourage everyone in business on the island to get behind it, as it will benefit everyone in the long run.
