Friends of the Park Quantify Economic Benefit

While many people have said for years that the V.I. National Park is the engine that runs St. John's economy, the Friends of the Park conducted a study to find out for sure. The study is entitled "Impact of Visitor Spending and Park Operations on the Regional Economy: Virgin Islands National Park." The results will be released at a presentation Oct. 21, at 10 a.m., at the park's maintenance conference room, located off the North Shore Road near Mongoose Junction Shopping Center. For more information, call Emily Burton at 779-4940.
