Red Cross Health and Safety Classes Offered

Oct. 9, 2004 – The American Red Cross, V.I. Chapter on St. Croix, is offering the following classes:

Standard First Aid
This course teaches identifying and caring for life-threatening bleeding, sudden illness and injuries. Participants receive certificates in First Aid Basics valid for three years.
Oct. 16, 8:30 a.m. to to 1 p.m., Damian Marius, Instructor

Community First Aid and Safety
This course trains in recognizing and caring for breathing and cardiac emergencies in adults, infants, and children. Care for cuts, scrapes, and bruises; burns; bleeding control; how to minimize effects of shock; injuries to bones, muscles and joints, such as sprains and strains; and sudden illnesses, including poisonings and heat and cold emergencies. Participants receive certificates in Adult, Child and Infant CPR valid for one year and First Aid Basics valid for three years.
