Sept. 21, 2004 – World Food Day activities will be held on Sunday, Oct. 17, from noon until 6 p.m. on the University of Virgin Islands, St. Croix campus. There will be a food vendors' court, a farmers market, food demonstrations, workshops, music, petting zoo, children games and guided tours of UVI's Agricultural Experiment Station research facilities.
All interested schools and youth groups are invited to take part in the "Kids CAN Make a Difference" food drive and the "House of Cans" competition. Donations will be local food banks and the Grenada relief effort.
World Food Day is sponsored by UVIs Cooperative Extension Service, Agricultural Experiment Station and the V.I. Department of Agriculture. For more information, contact Clarice Clarke at 692-4060.
