Sept. 10, 2004 – The governing board of the V.I. Water and Power Authority will offer its third annual community seminar Friday, Sept. 17, at the Carambola Beach Resort on St. Croix.
Designed for boards, commissions and interested members of the general public, the seminar topics include "Advanced Energy and Economic Development: What's the Connection?" and "Ethics and Fraud: How it Affects Your Organization."
Speakers include Carl Wilkins, director of client services at Advanced Energy, Inc., Raleigh, N.C., and Leslie Smith, director of internal audit at WAPA and a certified fraud examiner.
Lt. Gov. Vargrave Richards will also speak on economic development efforts to revitalize St. Croix.
The seminar runs from 9 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. Registration and continental breakfast begin at 8 a.m. Pre-registration by Sept. 15 is preferred.
