Sewer Line Repaired in JFK Community Housing

Sept. 2, 2004 – The collapsed portion of the sewer line adjacent to Building 14 in the John F. Kennedy Housing Community was repaired on Sept. 1, according to a press release from the Department of Public Works Commissioner Wayne L. Callwood.
He said, "The broken portion of the force main in the JFK Housing Community was replaced yesterday by our contractor, GEC, and we apologize for any inconveniences that this problem may have caused to the residents of JFK Housing."
Now that the repairs have been made, the department has ceased pumping over Long Reef. The repairs to the minor break adjacent to the LBJ pump station are still pending the arrival of materials, which are expected on-island the early part of next week. The break was reported Aug. 25.
