August 25, 2004 – Police Commissioner Elton Lewis has set a town meeting at the St. Croix Educational Complex auditorium at 6:3O p.m. next Tuesday.
According to a press release from his office, Lewis is asking residents to meet with him and his staff to discuss ways of improving police services and offer solutions to the existing problems on St. Croix.
There were recent meetings held on St. Thomas and St. John.
At those meetings Lewis and his staff were able to hear residents concerns about the Department and its related problems.
Residents expressed concerns about parking problems, police officer response time, school children working during the school week, and the reduction of crime in the community. (See "Police Listen to Residents Concerns About Crimes")
Residents are asked to bring a neighbor or a friend. Input is clearly wanted at the V.I. Police Department.
Lewis stated in the release, "I am looking forward to meeting with members of the community to share a vision for the Department and hear your concerns."
