Writer Sends Encouragement to St. Croix Family

Dear Source,

Just sending some words of encouragement and blessings to Asta, I'on, and the Carrington family.
I was a neighbor of and grew up with Asta and her siblings in Estate Whim, Frederiksted. Seeing her picture in the Source brought back fond memories of what growing up on St. Croix was all about in the '70s.
I remember having my hair done at her mother's "beauty salon" at her Whim residence. I remember how Asta used to beg my father to allow me to go with her and the rest of the "Whim Posse" on Sundays to Alexander Theater in Christiansted, the only movie theater on the island at the time.
She has always been a caring, fun-loving, non-judgmental person whose friendship I will always cherish.
I'on, you are blessed to be a part of a loving family. I pray that the Lord continue to surround you with a shield of protection and that you always walk in love and health.
Evadney "Peaches" Rogers Key
Lorton, Va.
