Lillian Smith Dies at 94

July 20, 2004 – Lillian Smith, known as Ms. Lili, died on July 14, 2004 at Sea View Nursing Home. She was 94.
She was born to Ebenezar Smith of Cane Garden Bay, Tortola and Margaret Wilson of Jost Van Dyke. She migrated to St. Thomas a little girl. She worked as a cook for a number of years before moving to Puerto Rico and then the United States.
She is the mother of four children: Beryl, Ripley, Berecia and Leona. She retired in 1969 and returned to St. Thomas and lived in Anna Fancy until her passing.
She is survived by daughters Beryl Smith, Leona Williams (N.Y.) and Berecia Forbes, (Va.); son, Bingley Richardson Sr., special friend, Winifred Francis; adopted children, Rashida and Raynard Francis; 12 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Services are July 22 at 10 a.m. at the Christchurch Methodist, with viewing the preceding hour. Burial is at the Western Cemetery.
