Children Can Get 'Hooked on Books' at Baa Library

Editor's note: The deadline to register for the "Hooked on Books" program has been extended to July 23.
June 11, 2004 – Children from birth to 14 can get "Hooked on Books" at the Enid M. Baa Public Library this summer.
The Summer Reading Program will focus on children in three age groups: birth to age 6, 7 to 10, and 11 to 14. Children enrolled in the program can earn gift certificates to Dockside Bookshop for participating in the Read-a-thon, a release said. The program will begin June 28 and end Aug. 13.
Baa Library staff will be on hand to assist readers in various activities, such as arts and crafts, as well as providing help with school summer assignments. Parents, camp counselors and others working with children this summer are encouraged to bring children to visit the library.
Registration begins at 9 a.m. Monday, June 14, in the Baa Library children's room.
The program schedule:
Time – Activity – Age Group
9-10 a.m. – Story Time – ages 3 to 5
10:30-11:30 a.m. – Sustained Silent Reading – ages 6 to 12
1 to 2 p.m. – Arts and Crafts – All ages
2:30-4 p.m. – Story Time – All ages
4-5 p.m. – Summer Assignment Help – Grades 7 to 12.
