St. John Celebration Parade Winners Announced

July 8, 2004 – The July 4th Celebration Village is coming down, workers are dismantling the stage at the Winston Wells Ballfield, and the St. John Festival and Cultural Committee has sent out its list of winners in Monday's parade.
Leona Smith, who heads the committee, said she was pleased with how all the events went. "I didn't hear of any problems," she said.
And the winners are:
Floupes
1. Caneel Bay Resort
2. Westin St. John Resort
3. Elskoe & Associates, from St. Thomas
Troupes
1. Indians, from St. Thomas
2. (tie) Tropical Masqueraders and Gypsies, both from St. Thomas.
3. AARP territorywide group
Mocko Jumbies
1. BVI Skywalkers
2. Mocko Jumbi Jamboree, from St. Thomas
3. We Dem Youths
Majorettes
1. Charming Twirlers, from St. Thomas
2. Middle-Age Majorettes
3. Coral Bay Twirlers
Honorable Mention
The V.I. National Park float, the Love City Leapers, and a troupe made up of students from Julius E. Sprauve and Guy Benjamin Schools.
