May 29, 2004 – WTJX-TV Channel 12/DT 44 is providing a special line-up of programming on Memorial Day, May 31.
At 10 a.m. the channel will broadcast the welcome-home ceremony for the members of the V.I. National Guard who served eight months in Afghanistan. The station had videotaped the ceremony, and is proud to honor the V.I. National Guard 631st Engineer Detachment, a release said.
At 11 a.m., WTJX will rebroadcast the 2004 Carnival Adult Parade.
Following that, additional programs will air commemorating Memorial Day: At 9 p.m., War Letters will feature correspondence between soldiers and their families, and at 10 p.m., American Valor, a look at military heroes, will follow.
