League of Voters Revisiting Financial Proposals

May 19, 2004 – The League of Women Voters of the Virgin Islands will decide Saturday whether to take a position concerning proposals for a Financial Control Board or Chief Financial Officer for the government.
Members debated endorsing Delegate Donna M. Christensen's bill to establish a Chief Financial Officer at the leagues annual meeting last month. However, members decided Christensen's bill was not the only option, and the league should educate itself and the public about all options.
Members and the public are invited to attend the general meeting at the University of the Virgin Islands in Chase Auditorium, B-110, on St. Thomas and at the Evans Center, Room 713, on St. Croix. It begins at 9:30 a.m.
A press release from the league states that, after reviewing and discussing the proposals, members will vote to determine what position, if any, the League will take.
