May 16, 2004 – Calling all book lovers. It is time for a spring-cleaning, and here's a home for your used books! The Friends of St. Thomas Public Libraries asks you to drop off any current magazines or used books at your local post office in our marked boxes.
The organization has been so successful at distributing adult fiction and nonfiction on the free bookshelves that they are running out of stock — so the group requests that you bring some of the books you've borrowed back to share with others, a release said.
The new Day Care Literacy program needs books for readers ages 3 to 5 years. The hospital cart program desperately needs large print magazines, Bibles or Spanish language material for patients.
Meanwhile, visit the Friends' new Web site for more information on the many programs or to join the group. Interested persons may also e-mail the Friends.
