April 19, 2004 – St. Thomas-St. John District public school registration for the 2004-2005 school year is May 4-28.
Parents must bring the child to be registered and the following documents: the childs original birth certificate (US Citizens Only); passport, resident card, naturalization certificate (Non-citizens Only); V.I. immunization card with clearance form attached; Report card from previous schools; proof of parents physical address (i.e. drivers license, voters ID, cable TV bill, WAPA bill); and, the childs Social Security card.
Registrar Claudette Hodge says that students, without exception, will not be registered without the presentation of the above documents. The V.I. Immunization card attached clearance form is issued at the immunization clinic in at the Roy Lester Schneider Hospital.
Registration takes place from 8:15 a.m. to noon daily at the Education Departments Curriculum Center, which is located across from the Seventh Day Adventist Church, in Estate Tutu.
Students entering kindergarten must be five years of age on or before Dec. 31, 2004.
Students are to be registered in accordance with the following schedule by the first letter of their last name:
May 4 – A
May 5 – B
May 6 – C
May 7 – D-E
May 11 – F-G
May 12 – H, I, J
May 13 – K-L
May 14 – M
May 18 – N-O
May 19 – P-Q
May 20 – R
May 21 – S
May 25 – T
May 26 – U-V
May 27 – W, X, Y, Z
Registration for children residing on the island of St. John is May 28 at the Julius E. Sprauve School from 8:30 a.m. through 11:45 a.m.
