WALK, WORKSHOP TO LOOK AT GALLOWS BAY HISTORY

April 15, 2004 – "Celebrating Gallows Bay: Past and Present" is the title and the topic of a guided walk on Saturday and a family history workshop on Sunday that are being presented by the St. Croix Landmarks Society.
Saturday's walk of historic Gallows Bay, from 1 to 3 p.m., will be with the V.I. Ancestor Discovery Group. Those wishing to participate should meet in the Fort Christiansvaern parking lot shortly before 1 p.m.
Sunday's workshop will feature exhibits including family trees, lectures and panel discussions on the history, daily life and occupations of the historic Gallows Bay community. It takes place from 2:30 to 5 p.m. at the American Legion Hall in Christiansted.
Supported by the merchants and professional people of Gallows Bay, the workshop costs $5. Proceeds will benefit the St. Croix Landmarks Society Library and Archives.
