SANTOLI'S ART WINS FIRSTBANK T-SHIRT CONTEST

March 25, 2004 – The artwork of Azariah Santoli, a student in Ivanna Eudora Kean High School's art program, has won the FirstBank Virgin Islands' T-shirt contest.
Original artwork depicting the traditional aspects of St. Thomas Carnival, in line with this year's theme, "Journey Through a Cultural Door for Carnival 2004," was submitted by students. Entries were distributed anonymously to FirstBank employees on St. Thomas and St. John, and employee votes determined the winner, a release said.
The artwork will be printed on T-shirts and distributed to FirstBank employees.
FirstBank will make a donation to the art department at Kean High School "for their hard work and participation in the contest."
This is the fifth year that FirstBank has partnered with a local school for this contest, which supports "the local talents of art students while promoting the importance of preserving the cultural heritage."
Lisa Etre, chairperson of Kean's art department, in a letter thanked FirstBank for showcasing student talent and for financial support.
