DIVI CARINA BAY ANNOUNCES POKER WINNERS

March, 13, 2004 — The cards were "in the air" at 4 p.m. Friday afternoon, the players went all in, and it paid off! Michael Dunston of St. Thomas and Carlo Carrillo of St. Croix are the two winners in Divi Carina Bay Casino's World Poker Tour.
In addition to cash, each winner received prizes worth over $4,000, including entry into Bellagio's World Poker Tour Satellite Tournament this April in Las Vegas. Second-, third- and fourth-place winners at both winning final tables also received cash prizes.
Ten tables of ten players each played on Wednesday and Thursday. The winner of each table (20 total winners) played in Friday's final round.
Barbara Shattles, general manager of Divi Carina Bay Casino, proudly handed each winner a trophy and their cash. Noting that more than one-third of the players were from off-island, Shattles said she is "excited to host events that interest off-islanders as well those who live on St. Croix."
Tom Guthrie of Project St. Croix is credited with bringing both the World Series of Poker and the World Poker Tour to St. Croix. "Project St. Croix is pleased to have worked with Divi Carina Bay Casino to bring world-class events to St. Croix," said Guthrie, adding, "We are working on a year-round schedule of events to make St. Croix a leading destination for exciting special events."
On May 13 and 14, Divi Carina Bay Casino will host another tournament, the Caribbean Classic, in which $10,000 cash will be split amongst the top three winners.
