'SUCH IGNORANCE HAS NO BUSINESS IN PUBLIC OFFICE'

Dear Source,
How shameful! Our disgraceful Tourism commissioner, Pamela Richards, is supposed to be promoting the islands, not making dreadful remarks about how filthy we are. And what do those wonderful young people who spent a great portion of last summer picking up trash along the roadsides think when they read those kinds of remarks? How do those organizations that help fund the repainting and repairing of the buildings in our towns feel? I'll bet it doesn't make them feel very special.
But then I don't think Ms. Richards thinks anyone but herself is very special. Such ignorance has no business being in public office, especially one that should be selling our special qualities to the rest of the world and not tearing them down.
The only way I see to remove such an impediment to our economic success is to make so much noise about how totally unqualified she is for this position that public outcry will force the powers-to-be to rethink their decision to have her in this capacity.
Write lots of letters and make lots of noise and maybe, just maybe, someone will listen.
If they don't, there may not be any reason to worry about it at all, because we'll be a bankrupt territory in more ways than we already are.
