NOTICE OF AVAILABILITY/ PUBLIC INFORMATION MEETING

Environmental Assessment for
Rehabilitation of North Shore Road and
Construction of Cruz Bay Overlook
Virgin Islands National Park
St. John, United States Virgin Islands

The National Park Service and the Federal Highway Administration are pleased to announce the availability of the Environmental Assessment for the Rehabilitation of North Shore Road and Construction of Cruz Bay Overlook at Virgin Islands National Park. The EA will be available on the 18th of March for public review. The Eastern Federal Lands Highway Division, of the Federal Highway Administration, has prepared this document in cooperation with the Virgin Islands National Park in order to provide guidance in determining the appropriate actions needed to perform the repairs, reconstruction, and replacements identified in the FY 2004 Federal Lands Highway Program. The Environmental Assessment has been prepared in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), the National Historic Preservation Act and regulations of the Council on Environmental Quality.

Public Review: The National Park Service considers public involvement to be an important component to a successful planning process and we invite you to furnish written comments to the address below:

The Environmental Assessment will be available for public review at the Park Visitor Center, Elaine I. Sprauve Public Library, Enid M. Baa Public Library, and on the World Wide Web at www.efl.fhwa.dot.gov/planning/neap.htm as of March 18th 2004.
