Friday, Feb. 27 through March 7. Ghanian Art Exhibition @ Walsh Metal Works Gallery, 6 p.m. The Caribbean Dance Company is presenting "Sketches of Ghana", a show of original works from the West African nation. All are invited to Friday evening's reception. Read The Whole Story.

Friday, March 12 and Saturday, March 13. Candlelight Concert Series @ Whim Museum Greathouse, 8 p.m. Friday, 7 p.m. Saturday. The St. Croix Landmarks Society is presenting the fifth in a series of six recitals in its 18th annual season of classical music performed in the candlelit ambience of the 250-year-old Whim Museum Greathouse. The Weilerstein Duo, pianist Vivian Hornik Weilerstein, and violinist Donald Weilerstein will be performing. Read The Whole Story.

Pier 69 @ King Street. 3rd Saturday Players Party, 10 p.m. until… Every 3rd Saturday of the month, Pier 69 hosts the Players Party, with a live band playing Old School rhythm & blues and doo-wop. Also, if you're planning to see a show at Island Center for the Performing Arts, chances are there'll be an after-party at Pier 69, with the house band almost always joined on stage by the Island Center artists. 772-0069.
Rainbow Beach Club @ Estate Prosperity. Sunday, 3 to 7 p.m. Local and stateside bands play the afternoon and sunset hours. Bands change weekly, so call ahead. 772-0002.
Sand Castle on the Beach @ Smithview. Saturday, 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. On Saturdays, the Sand Castle is transformed into a jazz dinner-club. Feb. 14, Boston saxophonist Joel Press, fresh from performances elsewhere in the Caribbean, will be joined by Marcus Rabb and his Quartet. 772-1205.
