MAN FOUND FATALLY SHOT IN WILLIAMS DELIGHT

Feb. 19, 2004 – Homicide investigators on St. Croix were attempting on Thursday to identify a black man believed to be in his mid-30s who was shot to death around 8:50 a.m. at a residence in Estate Williams Delight.
"The preliminary investigation has revealed that the victim was shot several times in the back bedroom of the residence and he died at the scene," Sgt. Thomas Hannah, Police Department spokesman, said.
"Witnesses told police investigators they heard gunfire a few moments before officers arrived on the scene and found the victim," Hannah said.
Police have contacted the owner of the property for assistance in establishing the man's identity, Hannah said. "We are continuing this investigation from various angles," he said, asking that anyone else with information about the case contact police by calling 911; 778-2211, ext. 4530, 4531 or 4582; or the confidential crime line at 778-4950.
The death is the third homicide reported on St. Croix this year and the sixth in the territory.
